Torchbearers is proud to announce the selection of 40 emerging leaders for its Class of 2016. These individuals present an exceptionally strong and professionally diverse class of emerging leaders from across the Greater Akron region.
Members of this new class will take part in a year-long experience through Torchbearers first-year Leadership and Development curriculum devoted to community service, talent attraction and retention and leadership development. New and returning members will have the opportunity to serve the community through unique volunteer opportunities, network with community leaders, and plan and execute programs to make Greater Akron a proud, vibrant and engaged place to work and call home.

Professionals ages 25-38 who are interested in leadership development, community service and are passionate about Greater Akron’s future are encouraged to apply for the Class of 2017. Torchbearers is an organization for emerging leaders focused on building a better Greater Akron community through leadership development and service. The organization was founded in 2003 to strengthen the connection between Akron area non-profits and emerging leaders and to further efforts to attract and retain young people to Greater Akron. In 2009, Leadership Akron and Torchbearers signed an agreement to work more closely together to foster leadership across generations. Today, the membership is more than 100 strong and reflects the diversity found across the Greater Akron emerging leaders’ community.
