The nonprofit Victim Assistance will honor the memory of over 1,000 victims lost in Summit County due to violence over the last 25 years as part of its Annual Angel Tree Ceremony, Monday, Dec. 2, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Akron-Summit County Public Library Auditorium, 60 S. High St.
Victim Assistance Program invites community members, friends and family members of homicide victims to attend and remember their loved one by placing an Angel ornament on one of the Angel Trees on display. Prior to the ceremony, family members and friends may contribute a picture (5×7) of their loved one for the Wall of Remembrance by calling Victim Assistance Program at (330) 376-7022. Throughout the month of December, both the Angel Trees and the Wall of Remembrance will remain on display at the Akron-Summit County Public Library.
The event is free and open to the public. To register for the event, visit www.2019angeltreeceremony.eventbrite.com.

Victim Assistance Program is also looking for donations to help offset expenses associated with the event. Some items needed include, paper products, refreshments, and keepsake items for families. Those interested in contributing may visit www.victimassistanceprogram.org/angel-tree or call Erin Cole, director of advancement, at (330) 376-7022, ext. 210.
