Program will include food trucks, trolley
To help kick off the Akron Art Museum’s Inside|Out exhibit in the Merriman Valley, Weathervane Playhouse will hold a food truck rally and with trolley rides provided to other art installation sites for the ribbon cutting event for this area.
The food trucks are provided in conjunction with Rubber City Radio Group and the trolley from the City of Akron and Akron Art Museum.
The event will take place Wednesday, Aug. 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Inside|Out brings high quality art reproductions from the Akron Art Museum’s collection to various neighborhoods around our area. Weathervane is the lead partner in the Merriman Valley.
Other installation sites include five Summit County Metro Park locations and valley businesses Pub Bricco, R.Shea’s Brewery, Blimp City Bikes and The Valley Café. All are taking part in the installation of “art in unexpected places.”
The Merriman Valley is part of an August through November installation in the communities of Goodyear Heights, South Akron (Summit Lake), the Merriman Valley and the city of Kent. Community partners other than Weathervane include the R.I.G.H.T. Committee, South Street Ministries, Let’s Grow Akron, Summit Metro Parks, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Main Street Kent and Kent State University.
Weathervane is located at 1301 Weathervane Lane in the Merriman Valley.
