Student leaders at The University of Akron are hosting Spring into Awareness: a week-long community event series to inspire the community to live well and be well. The event series, April 20 through 24, will include workshops, free meals, free raffles, speakers, live music, engaging activities and networking opportunities that are open to the public.

The purpose of Spring into Awareness is to make this spring a symbol of growth in the lives of individuals and the community. Topics covered throughout the week will include community leadership, sustainability, mindfulness, environmentalism, meditation, stress-reduction, permaculture, community gardening, healthy eating, yoga and other practices for improving the well-being of yourself, the environment and the community.
Community organizations and leaders who will be facilitating activities and workshops are Holistic Leaders and Mindful Meditation, Environmental Akron, PATHworks, The Mustard Seed, Ms. Julie’s Kitchen, Rooted Akron, Just Be, Lets Grow Akron, Greater Akron Innovators Networks and Sustainability, Andy Davis, Kevin Karas, Urban Calm, The Counseling and Testing Center, Sara Syed, Tracey Rhinehart, Yoga Bliss, Eric Peterson, Release Yoga, Halle Senger, This Epic Life, Zach Friedhof, Akron Peace Project, Creative Consultants LLC & Creative Rhythm, and Dance Your Soul.
