The Women’s Endowment Fund of Akron Community Foundation invites local residents and community leaders to save the date for its annual “For Women, Forever” dinner, which will take place Tuesday, March 6, 2018.
This year’s event will celebrate the fund’s 25th anniversary of empowering women and girls throughout Greater Akron and pay tribute to its six founders. Fund leaders will also present the 2018 Judith A. Read Tribute Award, which honors the late Judy Read’s extraordinary commitment to the advancement of women and girls in Summit County.
The keynote address will be delivered by Laura Thompson, executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Thompson will share her inspiring journey where, over a 30-year career, she has built her skills and leadership, earning her place in the C-Suite.
Corporate and individual sponsorship opportunities range from $2,500 to $25,000. Sponsors receive tickets to a special cocktail reception before the event, among other benefits.
“This is a unique opportunity for businesses to show their support for the women and girls in our community,” said event chair Kendra Philon, CPA and senior manager at Meaden & Moore. “Their commitment as a sponsor will help increase our funding to critical programs that serve women and girls in need.”
“For Women, Forever” celebrates women as philanthropists and benefits the Women’s Endowment Fund of Akron Community Foundation. Tickets to the event will go on sale in January. To receive an invitation, register for the Women’s Endowment Fund’s e-news at www.akroncf.org/WEFnews.
